[KOREA] JOGYESA TEMPLE


Jogyesa is well-known as the central temple and symbol of old Korean Buddhism. Jogye order of Korean Buddhism represents the 1700 year-old tradition and history of Korean Buddhism, but the Jogyesa temple itself was founded in 1910 by the combined strength of the entire Buddhist community in order to create one central head temple for the solidarity of the Buddhist community anf for promotion and independence of Buddhism.
