As me foreigner living in Seoul, taking a bus is the hardest thing to do. And now since I want to go to Boryeong city to attend Boryeong Mud Festival, and it takes like 2 hours driving, i just have bus as my choice. Actually i can take train but for oneway train from seoul to Boryeong, cost around ₩19500 won, 2 times more expensive from bus.
After i read a post from wcpadventure, it such a great post tho, i felt so ready for taking a bus LOL. I chose "SEOUL EXPRESS BUS TERMINAL" because it has more bus schedule than other terminal and it also the biggest bus terminal in Korea. Well i didn't think this is so big until i found it out by myself....
IT SOOOOOO BIG SO BIGGGGG WITH MANY BUILDING AND BUSES INSIDE DAMN!
Firstly, I took exit 1 from Express bus terminal MRT station and got in the first building, the nearest one from the MRT exit. I was looking for the ticket booth, and they said no no not here, Boryeong in the next building, and we ran fast to the next building... and again they said not here the next building.
FOR YOU WANT TO GO TO BORYEONG, GET IN TO SHINSEGAE BUILDING!
after running, finally the 3rd building is the right one. It connects to Sinsegae Department sore and J.W Mariotts hotel so If you go out from the train station, look up and look for shinsegae sign! that's the right building. It looks more fancy than other building, clean and big like in the airport HAHAHA
there are 2 type of bus to boryeong
고속 regular - ₩10900
우등 premium - ₩15900
first bus : 6 am / interval every 1 hour / last bus : 9.50 pm
lucky us, we got regular one~
and in the ticket, you can see "platform" number, that shows what our bus gate is and also the seat number, so it's very well organized, we can't sit everywhere we want.
getting bus not as hard as we thought, but it's better to come to the terminal early, since soooo many destination in the terminal, so if you enter the wrong building like us, you still have much time for looking the right one!
