[TAIWAN] KENDING: HOW GO TO/FROM HUALIEN BY TRAIN

Done with kenting many tourists choose to go back to Kaohsiung or continue to other city. Like me and my friend we continued our backpacker journey to Hualien, city of mountainous. It might be a lil bit tricky since so many transportation transfer in this trip so yeah

HOW TO GO TO/FROM HUALIEN TO KENTING

 

1ST STEP

KENTING STREET TO FANGLIAO STATION

Starting by taking a bus to FANGLIAO ST. ( yeah we dont go back to kaohsiung because hualien is in the eastern side of taiwan no backtrack) you can go to Meei Shye Hotel and on their 1st floor is kenting bus center where you can get some info about bus timetable and blabla. You can see the timetable, we took 9188 bus to fangliao. It takes around 1 hour for NT$ 209.

 

2ND STEP

FANGLIAO STATION TO HUALIEN STATION

No direct train to Hualien usually all train transit at Taitung (big transfercity that connecting small city in the southern part with hualien) but dont worry, you dont really need to change train. Usually it use the same train but just stop for a lil longer compared to other stop while you are in Taitung. So i got 2 tickets, FANGLIAO-TAITUNG was super full so i didnt get a seat but for TAITUNG-HUALIEN i got a seat. So for preventing noseat travel, you can reserve your seat and check the train schedule here

 

It took around 4 hours in total. But it was fun, the train is super spacious even for no seat passanger, clean and super nice aircon HAHA love taiwan regular train!
