동문시장
DONGMUN MARKET
how to go:
15 minutes from airport by taxi or bus
The market is quite big and you can find everything here and usually here the best place for buying souvenirs ( since it near airport) and also eating raw fish or Hue 회 for cheap price around ₩10000~30000 but too bad my friend dont eat raw thing so she denied to eat it :( and so here things that you can do in Dongmun market
#1 MARKET FOOD HUNTING!
lots of school food ( bunsik 분식), snacks, hallabong drinks Awoooo hik too bad not enough space inside my belly for try all. So here i tried one 문어빵 mun-o pang or octopus bread ₩2000 wooo cute shape right with cheese inside :3
#2 BUY OMEGI RICE CAKE FROM JEJU IS THE MUST!
So in Jeju has special ricecake different from other ricecake in Korea, named Omegi ricecake that made from greentea based with sweet redbean filling and savory redbean outside. Usually it becomes the best souvenir for older people in Korea culture. Here one of the famous ddeok house in Dongmun market, 진아떡집 JINA DDEOKJIB. 1 pack 8 pieces for ₩6000 they even provide delivery all korea for free.
#3 JEJU SNACKS SOUVERNIR
orange, hallabong, chocolate, vitamin, honey EVERYYYYTHINGGGG from the cheapest one ₩10000 for 6boxes of chocolate until ₩50000up box of orange. ♡♡♡
We ended up our trip with souvenirs shopping hikkk can't believe our holiday is over. Hik hik hope can go back soon to Jeju island because lota of local food that still not explore yet. BYEEEE JEJUUUU THANKS FOR WONDERFUL TIME ♡♡♡
Night near seongsan sunrise peak lil bit hard for looking for transportation but not hard for fullfilling hungry stomach HAHA there are many restaurants line up around the entrance gate. But i found one the smallest and simple restaurant compared to others, but when you come inside LOTS OF signs, foreign money, and comments from many people wooo #너무신기하다.

Eating seafood in Jeju is a must. And i just browsed beside regular sashimi and raw stuffs, Jeju also famous with "갈치조림" or blade fish stew. So it kinda super long long thin fish cooked with spicy korean red sauce and served with hot rice #calivagoesdown HAHAA so every place serves it differently. So i just watched tv and saw one of the most famous programme 생방송 오늘저녁 today's dinner about jeju dining! What a coincidence.

YESS FINALLY SUMMER HOLIDAY! Just came back from my holiday and yes in Korea, summer is like crazy holiday mood and this is where the main destination for tourist and also local for summer holiday, located in the southest part of Korea this small island just fascinating ♡ but if you join a group tour must be boring with teseum or hello kitty cafe and group tour set meal and yes know i gonna tell you how to go around this small island ( the whole part) just in 5 days using local transport, local accomodation, for you backpackers and budget travellers, lets go explore...
JEJU ISLAND!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION :
for indonesia tourist, if just come to jeju island ( not to seoul ) NO VISA NEEDED!
TRANSPORTATION
you have to use flight for sure from seoul, busan, or another big city in Korea or even from Indonesia, you can use Cathay Pacific go to jeju transfer in hongkong.
Ticket price from Indonesia : +/- ₩600,000 / round trip
Ticket price from seoul : +/- less than ₩50,000/ round trip if promotion but i got mine 4 days from departure ₩140,000 / round trip ( night departure from seoul to jeju & night departure from jeju to seoul)
And in jeju itself has lots of type of transportation,
1. CAR RENTAL ₩50000/day (driver license needed)
2. TAXI RENT ₩120000/day ( for around 4 people, 8 hours uses)
3. REGULAR TAXI starting ₩2600~
4. BIKE TRAIL ₩20000/ day ( riding for around 30km and die HAHA)
5. PUBLIC BUS ₩1300~3300
So i chose #5 and many people said it difficult to take public bus in jeju, the bus interval too long, that's why when you arrive in one place you have to see bus interval timeline, make a note, and make sure you already stand by at the bus stop few minutes before the bus come :)
ACCOMODATION
so many choices of accomodation in Jeju since it travel destination but its all up to you whether it about luxury or just for sleep or about facilities and great breakfast or interected with locals
1. Hotel ₩100000~ ( for rich)
2. Pension ₩50000~ ( for you beach hunter)
3. Jjimjilbang ₩7000~10000 ( for adventure budget traveller)
TOUR DESTINATION
so this is my itinerary, in my opinion jeju in 5 days is MORE THAN ENOUGH but once again in my route not really a regular group tour itinerary especially Indonesia touristy with yeongduam dragon head rock, hello kitty land, teseum and blabla so mostly it recommended by local people as MUST VISIT PLACES
When in Jeju, THIS LIKE MANDATORY MEN different with the regular bbq, black pork tastes more chewy and yummy and also served grilled thick. Men ... speechless and if you afraid to full you can also try 흑돼지꼬치 HEUK DWAEJIKOCHI or blackpork skewer
2. SEAFOOD
Island means sea means seafood! HIKKK honestly i barely eat seafood in Seoul because it expensive but in jeju, it totally taste nice and different ♡ must eat because it fresh! 회 HWI korean sashimi, 해물탕 HAEMULTANG seafood soup, 전복덮밥 JEONBOKTOPBAB fresh abalone mix rice, and many more!!
3. HALLASAN FRIED RICE
Known as the highest volcanic mountain in Korea, now youngers make hallasan famous with fried rice shape of it with spread of eggs and cheese!
4. FRESH MANGO JUICE ANS ICE FLAKES
Hot weather remedies. Now in Jeju hits with fresh mango juices, RICH MANGO with their mango shakes, MANGO REI with philippines' coconut mango, beautiful coffee shop near the beach and instagramable ice flakes.
5. HALLABONG JUICE, ICE CREAM, CHOCOLATE, VITAMIN AND EVERYTHING
jeju's special orange named hallabong is different with regular orange. It has like a crown on top and not only fresh fruit now so many things made from it must try!
6. STARBUCKS SPECIAL MENU
menu that you can't find outside jeju island hemm what so special about it click on the link below
7. JEJU SPECIAL RICE CAKE
Really you can't find it outside jeju? :p
