[JAPAN] WINTER SAPPORO

It was me and husband first time winter in North island. Hokkaido winter is super famous especially with Sapporo winter festival that always be held everyyear around early February. We went on 2023 but it needed 1 year to update the blog LOL  2024 scheduled on Feb 4-11. You can see sculpture of ice and food fest around Susukino and Clock tower area. You can check schedule and location at their official website 

Hokkaido always another new level of Japanese food, cold weather makes it even tastier HAHA so here's some food recommendation 2023 update for you who will go to Sapporo this year. 

1. 

Sapporo Ramen Republic at ESTA

2 Chome-1-1 Kita 5 Jonishi, Chuo Ward, Sapporo, Hokkaido 060-0005, Japan 

On 10th floor of ESTA shopping complex right next to Sapporo station you can find the whole floor dedicated for Ramen. You can choose from Tonkotsu to miso ramen they have everything here. Price starts around ¥600~

Ganso Ramen Yokocho

Ramen alley or yokocho is always a must visit when you come to Sapporo. Just try every random stalls! And queue. Miso ramen and corn butter ramen is Hokkaido specialty. Recommend to not come around dinner time since every stalls burst with people.

They have also many other branches around sapporo but all ALL always packed with long queue. But now i understand that when winter comes LAMB BBQ is a must! Bbq+beer+coldwinter+1hourqueue make it 100x times more delicious HAHA price starts around ¥1000 just stick to regular place. Mix more expensive plate just a scam i think :p

Hiri Hiri Curry Soup

Honestly i want to eat Suage but the queue was crazy so i just tried other brand and turned out IT WAS GOOD. spicy peppery and their chicken leg was huge ! Well in the end we still ate Suage but in Tokyo HAHA but we preferred Hiri hiri for more thick soup & more vegetable than Suage. Both price around ¥1100

UME-DO

22 Chome-1-26 Kita 11 Jonishi, Chuo Ward, Sapporo, Hokkaido 060-0011, Japan

Located in Sapporo morning market area. This store sells better seafood and cheaper than Niko market in the heart of Sapporo. Price range ¥800~¥3500 for kaiseidon and ¥20000 for fresh snowcrab. Everything was delicious and taste super sweet

STRAWBERRY & MELON

Fruits in Hokkaido is no joke. Unfortunately Melon is not as it peak because of winter but it still juciy and super sweet for a slice of melon cost ¥500 and box of 8 strawberry around ¥600 super worth it

Milk products also Hokkaido highlight so we tried one of homemade gelato which actually an Italian restaurant. Super gewdddd🫠 texture is super sticky and bold flavour we tried cheese, dark choco and pistachio all 100/10
