HEYYY! back to my japan series, finally my other dream destination unlocked! HOKKAIDOOOOOO!!! Even i couldn't make both came true this year, Okinawa and Hokkaido but thank God i made it one HAHA so many you think kinda weird why i went to Hokkaido on Summer while it SUPER DUPER FAMOUS for winter destination. I also confused at first because i had no time on winter but as i browsed actually Hokkaido is famous all year long, both winter and summer have each attractions.
Me and friends did backpacker trip but our budget couldn't be said super backpack because it could catagorized quite expensive since we settled it all less that 2 weeks before departure and unfortunately, our trip period was super high season so yeah no wonder HAHA

I told ya it's not your regular backpack HAHA but it still okey since i already know that Hokkaido always much more expensive than Honsu and southern part. I had USD 1500 budget and it was just right!
P.s if you out of budget here our tips
#1 DONT GO TO HAKODATE it cost you alot since it is super far away from sapporo
#2 DONT come on high season
#3 EAT LESS HAHA

#1 BEST TIME TO VISIT
Cant suggest you as you know 4 season countries always good all the times. but You can come here MID JUL for best flower season and JANUARY for best winter festival
#2 VISA NEEDED?
For you visa waiver, no need visa. But for me Indonesian old passport needs visa, and living in korea. So you can check here, how to apply Japan visa in Korea for foreigner.
#3 MONEY!
JAPANESE YEN (¥)
Japan is a cash country so prepared your cash for local transport and dining. But for mini mart and some restaurant or souvernir shopping that accept card, use card is better :)
#4 INTERNET CONNECTION
Hokkaido cities provides some free public wifi on some touristy spots but not really strong, so better you rent a router in the airport with early booking from your country.
#5 HOKKAIDO TRANSPORTATION
Hokkaido is SUPER BIG with many cities to visit.I CHOOSE BUS ALL THE TIME. Well it might be quite complicated here since i use some different kind of bus here, i will breakdown for more detail and how i book my passes.

SAPPORO
the capital city of Hokkaido. By car/ bus around 1 hour from Chitose Int' airport So many things to discover but unfortunately i just had short time there so not many places i've visited yet. BUT mostly all tourist spots located walking distance so don't worry, no transportation needed
BEST AREA TO STAY:
SAPPORO ST. ( if you travel around alot) OR SUSUKINO ( if you love night life and eats), i stayed at AIRBNB

OTARU
Small city located near Sapporo. By car around 45mins or by bus or train around 1 hour. Famous with beautiful canal and seaside area. Just perfect destination for super short trip from Sapporo. Not so many people stay over here but if you wanna slowly explore area
BEST AREA TO STAY: OTARU STATION

SHAKOTAN
Northwest seaside area of Hokkaido, can be reach by bus or car around 3 hours from Sapporo. Famous with its beautiful clear blue water and driving along the seacoast. So many water activities that you can do here, that's why it becomes Hokkaido must visit in Summer.
BEST AREA TO STAY: NOT SURE BECAUSE MOSTLY JUST LOCAL'S

SHIKOTSU LAKE
Although it doesn't as famous as Toya Lake, Shikotsu lake is one of Hokkaido best choice for healing trip. Located 45 minutes away from Chitose airport or 1 hour 30 mins from Sapporo. Beautiful clear water and mountain lake view

just really small area so limited accomodation, i stayed at GUEST HOUSE KAMUI

FURANO & BIEI
Beautiful famous lavender and flower farms on summer and tons of never melting snow on winter. Best place to enjoy real Hokkaido's nature
BEST PLACE TO STAY:
Not really sure since i didn't stay there but i thought Furano station area must be okey
HAKODATE
2nd biggest city and main seafood producer in Hokkaido. Located 6 hours drive from Sapporo. Super slow city. If you see on google, in winter japanese monkeys do onsen YES it is here ( i also just know ㅋㅋ) they also do it on summer but must be not as pretty as in winter right?
BEST PLACE TO STAY: HAKODATE ST.
