[JAPAN] HOKKAIDO: 시코츠호수 SHIKOTSUKO

Long time ago, my trip schedule was always super busy and had never free lazy time because we Indonesians like to maximalize our time right HAHA and at last, we tired AF. So learnt from all experiences, now I like to put some day doing nothing in peaceful place and this place in Hokkaido, just a perfect place to do that. A lake area with super minimal life HAHA nothing than lake and your accommodation since all restaurant, café and information center is closed at 5pm

HOW TO GO

You can only use car or BUS that only available 5 times a day. Travel time around 1hours

WHERE TO STAY

There are few accommodation like hotel and resort style but since we were backpacker we chose the most cheapest option, which GUESTHOUSE KAMUI, located right few steps from bus station. All rooms are tatami style. Because we 4 persons, we used private room but if you alone, you can use shared room. Although it looks lil bit creepy, but it totally cozy HAHA I scared at first but nothing appeared tho HAHAHAHAHA and it turned super comfy like home, you can also use the kitchen or just chill at living room.

WHAT TO DO

Actually you can just enjoy lake view it is super pretty on Google HAHA but shit again, super foggy so we didn’t even see the mountain.If the weather is great, you can take a boat tour around the lake, or like us, we did clear canoe together with ocean days(again the same with what we use in shakotan) and  the office surprisingly is our guesthouse HAHA

WHAT TO EAT

WELL this lake just has lil choices of food. Actually the area so small and i didn't pay attention on each restaurants name. that i remembered just around 8-10 restos around and here 4 out of 10 that i've tried.

JAPANESE TYPICAL FOOD

I totally forget the name of restaurant since it written in kanji HAHA we bought several different menus so we could try all. Quite good can't be said super delish as you know Japanese food originally taste "clean" and i thought here in Shikotsu lake is quite special with that fish that grilled with salt, among all menu only that one tasted outstanding haha

BURGER STALL

For you who looking for western food with japanese twist. This kinda foodtruck-look connected with hotel but can't be said quite cheap tho. We tried scallop burger, deluxe burger and crab patty and everything tasted great. I prefer this one compared japanese food above HAHA

MERMER

PRICE RANGE ¥200-600

Speciality in Gelato bar, but no cantaloupe gelato so i chose softserve ¥300. They also sell some souvernir and cute things inside the store

CORNER SNACK BAR

Actually they sell similar snacks with mermer but without gelato.i called it corner snack bar since it located right in a corner across information center. We bought grilled squid ¥700, Fry soft cheese potato ¥250, & butter scallop ¥500, and everything IS TOO DELICIOUS TO BE EXIST!!!! that scallop just a frozen scallop that brush with some butter BUT HOW IT COMES REALLY GEWWWWDDD
