Bullet train in China, KTX in korea and here in Taiwan, they have HSR ( High Speed Rail) i guess? HAHA they are connecting most big city in western area of Taiwan as you can see the map down there.
so i tried HSR from Taichung to Kaohsiung sector. I bought ticket on the spot at the station for NT$790 which quite expensive HAHA but it saved lots of my time because with HSR it just took 1 hour to kaohsiung while if you take bus it is around 2 hours drive, i suggest you do reservation a head because you can get earlybird discount around 20~30% depends on how many days before your departure.

TAICHUNG HSR STATION is super big but no aircon.
1st floor is for ticketing and there are some restaurant like MCDonalds and local franchises for a quick grabbed meal.
You use your ticket for entering departure gate and dont foeget to take it again after it pops up from the machine.
and 2nd floor for departing area where the train is coming.
There are 2 classes
RED FOR BUSINESS
BLUE FOR REGULAR
Overall it is super convenience and clean and feel so new and save for travelling time. Don't forget to try it while you are in Taiwan at least once HAHA because it quite expensive for backpacker like me.
